*NEW >> Re-install Windows Media Player or Windows 7 Fix Even if it says you have the latest version. This really helps!
For most streams Internet Explorer, or FireFox is recommended. (solves most problems)
Sometimes the software needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
This stuff works >>>>>
Download StreamTorrent and you should read ST Guide as well. It's easier to use than TvAnts!
Download TvAnts ...Windows Firewall should have exception for tvants.exe; open Ports 16800 & 16900 in both UDP & TCP.
For StreamTorrent it's streamtorrent.exe; ports 15800 & 15900. ...or for some OS; IPv4 (TCP/UDP): 15800-15899 & IPv6 (TCP/UDP): 15900-15999
Install the connections patch, especially for Windows XP users at: Overview for XP2 or Overview for XP3 or Overview for W7
Vista users using TvAnts (or ST) need to read > Fix-tvants-vista-wmp11
Other software... TVU ; Sopcast; WMP; VLC; etc which can be found in the appropriate forums.
If you have a continuing issue, try clearing your cache and cookies. CCleaner works well for this.
Or you may need to try and Repair/Reset Winsock settings

How to use VLC to watch a Stream

You cannot use VLC to watch a stream unless it is already playing in StreamTorrent or TvAnts

Download VLC at OldVersion(dot)com ...or... New Version 1.05 - VideoLan.org and install it.
Turn on TvAnts. Right click on the streaming picture window, go to "Properties" and copy the .asf link you find.
Turn on StreamTorrent. Click and Lock the channel you wish to watch. Then... right click on the streaming picture window, go to "Properties" and copy the .asf link you find.
SopCast users go here > Use VLC with SopCast.
In VLC, go to "File" and open a network stream.
In the HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS box, paste in the asf link.
Click on "OK" and sit back and watch in VLC. Close the StreamTorrent or TvAnts picture window, but DO NOT close out of the application, for this closes the stream. (Side note: The asf link will change for each stream. Usually the last number is what changes.)

Search the TVAnts forum at MyP2P Forums ...or... The StreamTorrent forum at MyP2P Forums

I live in Argentina, I've been following the Phillies for 3 years now.

I pay cable tv every month, but unfortunately, argentinean people do not like baseball, so basically ESPN only broadcasts the World Series, and the All-Star game.
Even if it sounds weird, I've been forced to look all over the internet for baseball streams, until I found you guys.

Thanks for making this possible. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to follow my fav team.

Does anyone have a st link that consistently plays ESPN News? Just wondering...

Also, I have to give props to 420 for always linking the nfl and mlb networks. It's really great to be able to watch while overseas! Much appreciated. :d

*NEW! - The official tracker for TVAnts changes occassionally. Please go to the server tab in TVAnts, click add, and type in list.ccants.com as the address for the new tracker.
*NEW >> Re-install Windows Media Player or Windows 7 Fix Even if it says you have the latest version. This really helps!
For most streams Internet Explorer, or FireFox is recommended. (solves most problems)
Sometimes the software needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

Download StreamTorrent and you should read ST Guide as well. It's easier to use than TvAnts!
Download TvAnts ...Windows Firewall should have exception for tvants.exe; open Ports 16800 & 16900 in both UDP & TCP.
For StreamTorrent it's streamtorrent.exe; ports 15800 & 15900. ...or for some OS; IPv4 (TCP/UDP): 15800-15899 & IPv6 (TCP/UDP): 15900-15999
Install the connections patch, especially for Windows XP users at: Overview for XP2 or Overview for XP3 or Overview for W7
Vista users using TvAnts (or ST) need to read > Fix-tvants-vista-wmp11
Other software... TVU ; Sopcast; WMP; VLC; etc which can be found in the appropriate forums.
If you have a continuing issue, try clearing your cache and cookies. CCleaner works well for this.
Or you may need to try and Repair/Reset Winsock settings

How to use VLC to watch a Stream

You cannot use VLC to watch a stream unless it is already playing in StreamTorrent or TvAnts

Download VLC at OldVersion(dot)com ...or... New Version 1.05 - VideoLan.org and install it.
Turn on TvAnts. Right click on the streaming picture window, go to "Properties" and copy the .asf link you find.
Turn on StreamTorrent. Click and Lock the channel you wish to watch. Then... right click on the streaming picture window, go to "Properties" and copy the .asf link you find.
SopCast users go here > Use VLC with SopCast.
In VLC, go to "File" and open a network stream.
In the HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS box, paste in the asf link.
Click on "OK" and sit back and watch in VLC. Close the StreamTorrent or TvAnts picture window, but DO NOT close out of the application, for this closes the stream. (Side note: The asf link will change for each stream. Usually the last number is what changes.)

Turn on StreamTorrent. Click and Lock the channel you wish to watch. Then... right click on the streaming picture window, go to "Properties" and copy the .asf link you find.
SopCast users go here > Use VLC with SopCast.
In VLC, go to "File" and open a network stream.
In the HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS box, paste in the asf link.
Click on "OK" and sit back and watch in VLC. Close the StreamTorrent or TvAnts picture window, but DO NOT close out of the application, for this closes the stream. (Side note: The asf link will change for each stream. Usually the last number is what changes.)

Baseball: Rules and Regulations Questions.

Please forgive my ignorance regarding these questions. Being English, I did not grow up in a baseball familiar environment and although I have been watching baseball regularly over the last 10 years I have some questions which have bugged me for some time and would love answers to if anyone can help please.

1. Why is 2nd base known as scoring position and not 1st base?

2. Possibley related to Q.1, why is it OK for 1st base fielder to just catch the ball whilst standing on the base but at the other bases the base fielder has to "tag" the runner?

3. How many "pinch" players can be used in any one game?

4. Is there a set amount of starting/closing pitchers on a clubs roster? Do they HAVE to have a certain number or could a club use just one starting pitcher in theory?

5. Related to Q.4, Is there a definitive number of players on any one squad?

6. What is "slugging" and how is it calculated?

7. What is a "squeeze" play?

It bugs me regularly when I am watching a game when the commentator uses terms like the ones above and I don't have a clue as to what he is going on about, so if anyone out there can answer any or all of these points I would be very grateful. Thanks very much.
