Try an older version and see if it works there, some others had the same issues with the newest version

Not, just accept it, everything still works It;s just the chinese caracters which aren't detected. I don't think you would understand that either...

When I select a programme from the menu on the right, I usually get a Windows message saying "This program is not responding". Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Does anybody know how to view the Chinese (which is probably coded in GB) with an English OS/operating system?

    Thanks in advance!

You should just get weird signs then, or you should download the chinese language pack from windows which might solve it.

hi, i've found the way to solve this problem.

go to control panel --> clock & language --> regional and language options.

under that, click on 'adminstrative' tab.

and change the LANGUAGE FOR NON-UNICODE PROGRAMS to chinese simplified (PRC). restart your computer for the change to take place.

you should be able to read the chinese words in PPstream after that restart. however, do take note that your font in MSN chat windows may become very weird looking and you cannot change the fonts anymore (it becomes the chinesey words) unless you change the non-unicode language back to english again.

i'm using windows vista, so the steps might be a little different for XP users... have fun surfing the channels in ppstream! hope this helps out all ppstream users who are having the same problem. cheers!

    Angry Be careful!!!

Whilst doing a deep malware scan today (testing a new anti malware programme), I found a trojan located in the PPStream files on my p.c.

Can't say for sure it came from PPStream, but it was located there...no other p2p software files I have installed were infected in any way.

Could be the trojan got in via one of the worms this scan found and got dumped on PPStream...but as I never use PPStream anyway, I deleted it from my p.c.

Bloody frightening, the amount of viruses/malware/spyware these days. :S

    Default ppstream virus found

    Today, McAfee detected a trojan in PPStream.exe . To be on the safe side, I uploaded the file to Virus Total, where 11/40 (27.5%) found it to be a virus of some sort. The analysis can be found here: Virustotal. MD5: 8b3f12fd684725ab1d536dda9896c704 Trojan.Generic.99111 Trojan-Dropper.Agent!IK Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}

What do you all think? Should we stop using ppstream????? Any solutions?

Never seen a trojan in it, but might be in the download file (latest one) or some update or advertisement on it, that's where it happens the most lately on chinese sites and progs.
