Internet Connection help....

Hello,
As mentioned before been having problems with p2p software since Friday quite bizarrely and seem to have found the problem yet am unaware of how to fix it....

My internet speed according to numerous online tests is thus:

Download: 89kps
Upload:169kps

Now having a 5mb broadband line from Aol this is quite concerning.
I know my wireless lan is secure have wep key and wpa in place, have removed all spyware,removed all cookies,temp files.....basically done everything i can imagine.

AOL have confirmed they are still sending 5mb and fobbed me off until tomorrow by tellin me to do stuff like clear cookies and the like.

Any help would be greatful and if it helps im running off a Netgear router plugged directly into it as opposed to usin the wireless capabilities of my laptop.

if you have'nt already done so it could be worth seeing what you have running from startup

start/ run, type msconfig and click ok, choose startup and use google to find out exactly what each process is, then uncheck and restart for any that maybe using bandwidth unnecessarily
