It's like Justintv, Ustream but streams don't get taken down as much

The reason for that is simple. Freedocast is not in the United States, therefore they do not have to comply with U.S. laws. Unlike Justin or Ustream, Freedocast is not subject to the DMCA, because they are not in the United States.

ask the same to the rugby streamers using freedocast they dont last long.

whatever platform you broadcast on you will get bans when streaming copyrighted tv at some time or other.

If p2p streaming is an option use it sadly my upload wont allow it at this point.

I agree uggla, a few of us have had bans for streamng MLB too. True they're not in the USA, but it appears they honor most copyright laws.

I avoid copyright problems by blocking U.S and U.K. viewers, which I can do on Sopcast. I have my channel configured to remove myself from the directory, and users are required to go through one part of my website which is guarded by geo filtering software. Anyone in the U.S. or U.K. who tries to connect will get a message saying that due to copyright restrictions, the stream is not available to U.S. or U.K. viewers. I have done this for quite some time, and have never had my channel taken down.

Sopcast is the only streaming service, that I know of, that will allow users to be not listed in the directory.

I admire your enthusiasm but copyright rules wont change whatever streaming platform you use.

That is what I do. It is embedded in a Web page that sits behind geo protection software that blocks U.S. and U.K. viewers.

I don't know how you would "html protect" it, but geoblocking it works for me.

You see, one thing I do, is take video from anywhere, either the TV, or the Internet, add my own commentary, and make my own homebrew sportscast.

You have to to go a web page, where the Sopcast video is embedded, and that is guarded bty geoblocking software to lock out US and UK users.

A USA server is only subject to USA laws, so all I have to do is block U.S. viewers, and that solves the problem.

I am afraid it is. However, becuase Vista does not support the open source solution I use, I will be switching to TVAnts when I upgrade my server to Vista. Unlike Sopcast, Justin, or TVU, TVAnts is neither US based, or owned by American citizens, so I dont have to worry about U.S. copyright problems, and can drop geoblocking.
