Default 2009 Ohio State Buckeyes Fans

This season is shaping up to be another good one. We finished the year strong against a Texas team that should've played against the Gators in the National Championship game (if, of course Utah didn't get the nod before Texas), and while it was a loss, it was still a very good game.

What are your thoughts about the 2009 Buckeyes?

Edit: Lol, hiding to avoid the SEC trolling. :P

    Default Buckeyes

I too am a buckeyes fan. Three games that are very important to win are USC, Penn State, and Illinois. The rest of the schedule looks like wins fot tOSU Buckeyes. I think Pryor will lead the team to the Big Ten Title again, beating Penn State and Illinois. I also think USC will lose at The Shoe. The only way they play for a National title is if they are one of two teams to go undefeated. If Florida, Oklahoma, or Texas go undefeatedThe Bucks wont get to the BCS Bowl. Pryor is the key and depending on the o-line he could be the difference.
Now will the Buckeyes be broadcast on this site each week?

I agree those are the big three games. I was actually surprised that a bunch of USC fans over at ESPN are pretty much writing down a loss at Ohio State. The biggest point they make is how good they looked against Texas at the end of the season, and knowing that they didn't get much of Pryor last year.

I think it is very realistic that if they get past USC in particular, they'd be a favorite to get into the title game and likely play Florida rematch, or maybe a Texas rematch. I know that few people are giving Ohio State a shot, but they deserve a shot if they earn it just as any team should.

As for streaming the games each week? myp2p has been pretty amazing in their coverage. BrewCrew in particular has streamed several Buckeye games in the past that I remember, and were in good quality as well. While I won't speak for them, I'm almost positive that there will be at least one streamer covering them.

I just couldn't see how OSU will get a win playing USC, I bet they would have no problem with Illinois, they might have a tight game with Penn State, Iowa and Wisconsin

and if OSU pull a win on those 3 games and lost a tight match to USC 11-1 record + lost in week 3 and to USC will pretty much give you a National Champion match. In the National Champion match I bet OSU will not be the favorite but it's the National champion match, favorite mean nothing, anything could have happen.

    Good luck

Could've sworn I responded yesterday, haha.

Streams get added generally the day of the game. Check out the site and forum section the day of the game. You should refresh the listings frequently, as streams get added all the time. I personally prefer the forum listing, since that generally contains all of the streams, including ones not listed on the main site.

SopCast is good, but I've not seen many streams on it recently, but still nice to have. TVAnts is a must. Another program that you should get is StreamTorrent. Really easy to use program, and a bunch of streamers on myp2p are currently testing out streaming with it.

@Jacoubs: As for Ohio State beating USC, I can see it. Mainly because USC didn't have to deal with Pryor last year, and the offense has a big speed boost. I'm not claiming SEC speed, but they've got more speed than any other Big 10 team (with a possible exception being Penn State). They have a good shot at winning the game, or at least not embarrassing themselves like last year. Even if they win though, I really think it'll be a close game. I just want the season to start already!

Lucky for USC though, they didn't have to deal with Pryor OR Chris Wells. The offense was reduced to nothing @USC last year, and Texas found out first hand what OSU with those two can do, which is why that game was so close and good. I'm not counting on the win, but I can see it. Just want a good game.

    Wait, Buckeye fans actually exist???
I thought they were a myth and in reality no one liked that unlikable team...

    Just kidding
Even though there's a coincidentally high number of people somehow attached to OSU-rival Penn State in this forum, we appreciate everyone in our small, but dedicated community of college football fans in exile
So, I'm glad we can now add OSU to our rather diverse fan base here

That said, let me state that you are sooooooooo going to go down in the unofficial Big Ten Championship Game at Happy Valley...

Nice to read a Buckeye fan that has something between his/her ears.
Your boys have every chance against my Trojans. Can't wait for the game. Should be a hell of a lot closer than last year.

I'm sure you'll join me in a toast to Michigan's suckiness. That is somewhat amusing ;-)

Lol. I never really understood that in the online world of which everyone seems to be an SEC fan, that there was such a collection of Penn State fans on here. I'm just happy to see people not hellbent on complaining about the Big Ten.

But I'm used to being extremely outnumbered. I live in Gainesville, and while I am a Gator fan as well, if I go outside sporting any Buckeye gear, I get hazed. :P

I just hope that the game is good (but I do think Ohio State will pull off the win), and since it'll be in Happy Valley, it'll at least be a damn loud and fun game to watch.

I'm really looking forward to the game, probably more so than any other game this season, and not just because the schedule is filled with nobodies. I love it when the Buckeyes get tested, win or lose. I loved it when we played against Vince Young's Texas, and Colt McCoy's Texas. We lost (damn close and classic game) to Vince Young's Texas, but owned Colt McCoy's Texas. He then got his revenge in another damn good game last year.

It says that every year we get tested and take a tough loss, we come back stronger and learn from it. Hopefully that loss to USC last year, and the heart breaker with Texas will result in the same.

As for Michigan, I've all but given up on the rivalry aspect. They just suck so bad, this isn't even a rivalry anymore. I'm far more worried with Penn State, Ilinois, Iowa, and the likes of them. It's damn amusing. Lol.

The games will be listed the day of the game. StreamTorrent is really easy to use, just like SopCast and TVAnts, all you have to do is click a game link, and it'll load up the stream.

For now, I'd say test your luck with the baseball streams. A couple of the streamers are currently testing out their streams on StreamTorrent, most of which are successful. The baseball games are on TVAnts and StreamTorrent in particular.

As for SopCast, very few games are ever streamed on SopCast, and baseball streams are banned from SopCast, which makes it a less than favorable client to use.

Just wait until the season starts for Buckeye links, and other games. I'm personally going to aim to stream the first Buckeye game (on StreamTorrent), but no promises of course.

Former Michigan player Justin Feagin wanted to transfer to Appalachian State, and he couldn't even go there because he's a drug dealer and has academic issues.

I'm a TEXAS grad and want to thank OSU fans for the respectful thread with regards to the LONGHORNS. The funny thing is, is that I frequent one of the main LONGHORN boards and the sooners completely disrepect the Buckeyes and say that we beat a weak Buckeye team. I personally think that the Buckeyes were getting better all year and they had a month to prepare and came very close to winning that game. I think if the Buckeyes can get past usc, then they will gain a lot of respect. Good luck. HOOKEM' HORNS.

Streamers don't stream other sports with sopcast because sopcast just ban them. Fortunately and surprisingly , they do not ban college footballs so streamers usually use sopcast as it's simply better than tvants.

Everyone rips Ohio State. I think the only people who don't rip Ohio State anymore is Michigan. They've just not had a reason to say anything for a long time, really.

Texas was a far better choice than Oklahoma. They're just sore after the Gators ate 'em, so they have to bash on someone to make themselves feel better. That being said though, the fact it was such a close game speaks volumes, and not about how bad Texas played, but how good the Buckeyes played.

I'd like a Texas/Ohio State rematch what with Colt McCoy playing, or a Florida/Ohio State rematch and let us face Tebow, and not just have him coming in as a package QB, but the real QB.

Ohio State is partly hated because is doesn't lose very often. It just rolls through the season, then finds itself in a bowl game year after year, and most of the time it's near the National Championship game. But with each loss, and the rarity of a loss, comes a stronger, more fierce squad.

Look at the loss against the Gators. The next year, and against an SEC team that was supposed to blow OSU away at a home game, OSU came back and made it a closer game than they had with the Gators. Then last year, made it a close finish with Texas. This season is shaping up to be a good year.

I think it's safe to say that the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan is pretty much over with the Buckeyes coming out in defense of Michigan.

We've dominated Michigan for so long now, and the program is in absolute turmoil. They're just not competitive like they used to be, and I think we're moving into an SEC-like era, where the BigTen will be less about in-conference rivalries, and more about rivalries formed outside with other conferences.

My hate has pretty much diminished for Michigan. Now I feel more sympathetic than anything. Somewhat a sad day for college football.

As for people asking me for how to use programs and such, I apologize, but this is supposed to be a thread about College Football, and is a team thread for Ohio State. There are designated sections for asking help for specific programs, along with dozens of tutorials.

As for the search feature usage, I'll answer that in the F.A.Q. for the StreamTorrent guide. Can access that guide in my signature.
