Thumbs up J@CK TV [Live UK TV]

J@CK TV IS NOW DEAD(as in no longer works)

J@CK TV with four XXX channels

J@CK TV with no XXX channels

    J@CK TV
    (WINDOWS Only)

Ok J@CK TV is a GUI version of someperson's British TV but with 70 channels no need for VLC it uses WMP sorry Linux and Mac users Windows only. You can also add your own streams to play in J@CK TV including SopCast streams but not fully tested with all PC's & OS.

    Enjoy

Watch the YouTube Video of J@CK TV: YouTube - J@CK TV

A simple website for J@CK TV i put together: J@CK TV on the www

    Things to Know

    1. Double click screen when stream is running to get full screen.

    2.
If you get this Message dont panick its just down

    3. To add your own stream just add it and hit go!!!

    4. Easy channel colour code

    5. A good television programme guide is TellyPrompter.

    6. If it dont run then you need mswinsock.ocx & clsid.oxc or install J@CK TV with all the files needed.

    7. The streams running on J@CK TV are HD if they stutter or constantly buffer its most likely your connection do a speed test. Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

    8. Yes it works outside the UK.

    9. To be on the safe side make sure you have Windows Media Player 11 installed.

    10. A little tip for WMP goto --> Tools --> Options --> Performance. You will see a little slider in Video Acceleration, stick that in the middle (little different in Vista). Also in Connection Speed set it to the next one down to actual speed you have then click Apply/Ok.

DOWNLOAD Install Version: J@CK TV or J@CK TV

DOWNLOAD Non Porn Version: J@CK TV or J@CK TV

    STOP!!!
Please Read: Think before posting in this thread if you like it just hit Thanks. As for the streams well they should stay up and auto update them selfs(Thanks advisethis) apart for one or two what i used for fillers and sorry if you dont like porn they where fillers to coming from the source. All the PPV channels have all gone like the films, Disney channels etc... nothing i can do about that as my plan was for more channels. All non constuctive posts will be deleted to keep this thread clean and easy to manage.

Question. I can't get the screen any larger. Is there a way? I've tried left clicks, double right clicks but nothing moves. Any way this can be transferred to Media player?
    (I know - I should be grateful - and I am!)

Max screen only works when a stream is running.

No you cant open the streams with another media player as i have hidden the URLs but you can try British TV for that (as my URLs are not the same ones).

Default XP no Problems, Vista - J@ack did not work

    Hi DMW,

    I've a similar Problem to dande101.
On my XP-Computer I downloaded J@ck TV and it works absolutely perfect.
    Thank you very much.

But on my Notebook - with windows VISTA - the same file did not work.
I follow all your suggestions in the previous posts. New Codec, Change settings of WMP etc. but the J@ckt TV did not work.

I deleted J@ack and copied it from the XP-Computer (where all is still running perfectly). But also with this copy - Nothing.

The Computer tries to connect, and then tries to open the connection, but did not work.
    What could be the problem?

    Greetings,
    Jacko

I'm a new member of myp2p, and I have some years of experience with vb 6 (3 years of coding)

I want to tell DMW that I can help him improve his program by providing these :

1 : Automatic download for new major releases
2 : Automatic stream url fixer, no need to re-download the exe everytime streams go down.

I will happily help him improve it, awaiting for a reply

i think we can forget now J@ckTV or watching UK TV over StreamTorrent,

seems when im not wrong they implemented a Timer or session key stuff.

When the time is exceeded it stops to play the stream, then you need a new valid key id for the Stream.
For me it worked i think only 30 minutes and then it needs a new key for watch the stream.
Possible the Player App it generates before the time is over a new valid session key.

Or some one can implement a method which generates for the stream a valid id.

About some kids Channels doesnt use at the moment the id stuff which means is not protected.

    Lightbulb

Hi guys im debating wether to spitch from using WMP to VLC for J@CK TV and just wondering what you all think? Only problem i have is ive never worked with the VLC plugin before with VB6 and it seems to be a bit of a pain in the @rse. If i do use VLC though i will be able to use the same streams that someperson uses in his British TV app.

Anyway here is a very basic example of VLC in action VLC Plugin Test.exe

Hey DMW, yes the octet-streams what someperson uses still have the stuttering freezing issues even with the updated links. Sure u could make basically the same thing as somepersons app, but the issues people complain about are still there (due to the source we find them from). Anyway, u hit the jackpot with J@CK... no pun intended!

DMW your test program works fine, based on my experience.

    I'm using VLC v. 1.0.3 RC.

    DMW:

That would be great if you could use VLC Player. I have grown to like it and seems simple to use for watching streams. Looks like you are making progress then in getting things up and running?

    Updtate....

Just tried your link for the test. Is it supposed to do anything? Opened it up and it had an RTE One link clicked on it but did not do anything...do I need a newer version of VLC?

DMW, seeing that using VLC with VB6 causes you problems, then maybe that calls for the updated version in VLC to be called J@CK@RSE TV.EXE

Please leave the original version in place with WMP hoping on an eventual breakthrough. In the meantime the VLC version can take to the web to keep all the punters off your back and happy.

    I would prefer a vlc version !!
Simply because vlc offers that red "one-click-recording" button.

    Default DMW: VLC test

    Hi DMW

I tried the VLC test and got a beautiful picture but a terrible screaching sound instead of voices.

    Getting there!!!
