TVU links seldom work anymore.

TVU used to be a good reliable piece of software but lately I would have to say 95% of the events that are linked to TVU lately have either been an advert to a link elsewhere (usually sending you on a wild goose chase or requiring you to fill out 15 market research questionnaires) or it just sits there with an advert in front of you, clearly making no attempt to stream a football match.

Have I just been unlucky then or has anyone else noticed this?


I appreciate that there are going to be adverts everywhere to bring in revenue for those streaming and I'm not complaining about that but it should really be as simple as switching the tv on to get to view a match, not be redirected all over the place or get nothing at all.

TVU streams depend on your location and if your not in the right loction its geo-blocked so you cant view it.

TVU links ain't adverts, only tvu itself is running adverts before a stream starts. After that it should start and run. Which links have you been using that you're asked to fill in questionaires? Never seen them, as links just make you start TVU and a channel. Nothing else.

Make sure your browser does detect TVU as a program as normally clicking it and it will and does load and starts. Can you load streams manually? If not, you might have an issue with your pc and TVU, like a firewall or other stuff preventing from playing.

Might be some channels are blocked but not 95%, more like 5%.

I too have had problems with TVU when I used to get good quality pictures
but now more often than not I get not available in your area yet I can see in the side bar some very good feeds, also I have begun to have problems with the channel advertising the correct match but playing another match altogether which is annoying when waiting patiently for match to start and a different one starts, can anyone help me as to why this happens thank you

Okay maybe the newer versions got issues? Using an older beta here but it could be they start to block more countries

Only way of starting the correct link is looking at the match schedules, for example it states tvu://10007 , then search for that number in the list and open it manually

Happened with the old version for me and the new version has the same problem. It just wont open and searching for the channel manually wont give me any results. As there are alternatives it doesnt bother me, just thought I would add that its not the OP alone.

Personally TVAnts is better but i do like TVU's GUI as for British TV it seam TVU has the most channels for now.
