    Thumbs up Russian TV

This morning I came across a whole load of about 70 Russian TV streams.

All major channels, plus a bunch of minor ones, seem to be included. In addition there are English streams of CNN, Al Jazeera and Deutsche Welle. Some streams are marked, for example, TNT and TNT +2. I believe these are timeshifts (in the manner of ITV2 +1). If there are any Russian speakers on this board I'm sure they will be very happy.

These are similar to the "VLC streams" discussed earlier in that they are TV-quality and must be played in VLC. However the bitrate seems to be less (and also seems to vary from channel to channel) as some play well on my wireless connection whilst others don't.

    Enjoy...

(Attaching the file in this manner restricts viewing to registered users...I don't know why I didn't do this in the first place)

These are already "in the open" elsewhere on the internet, as that's how I came across them in the first place. If they were going down soon they'd be down already. I thought criticism wasn't allowed?

I do not have the ability to Streamtorrent them (even if I did my internet wouldn't be fast enough) so this is the best I can do. I don't even know if these would work with Streamtorrent in the first place. Someone else can try that if they would like.

erginclass, while CNN and DW were working when I made the list it appears those streams are having issues at the moment. Most of them are still working. For example, Russia Today:

    Attachment 972

If you are still having issues make sure you're putting the link into VLC exactly as it appears. (for example, if it is listed as http://94.xxx.xxx.xxx:7600/8000, cut-and-paste all of that into VLC)

Admin, that is wise suggestion but what if ST is not a choice of these having not so fast connections?

Then why you teach the people in here to use Streamtorrent links?

Some of us don't have the capability to use Streamtorrent. In my case it's because I don't use Windoze, but I also don't have a super-high-speed internet connection. Even streamtorrenting one stream is almost too much for my connection. These particular streams most likely won't work with Streamtorrent, anyway.

I am sharing these for those who want them. I don't speak Russian, therefore these are of no use to me. If they go down, they go down. It's not the end of the world. Life goes on; other streams will be found.

The reason BBC/ITV links are put into streamtorrent is because they're in high demand. Streamtorrent, being P2P, handles high demand well. They are not only in high demand here but across the internet. Posting them "in the clear", then, is a very bad idea. It's been done before, and increased amount of traffic (resulting from being copied across the internet) will cause the source to realise something is up and shut them off within a few hours.

Effenberg, don't call me an asshole. There is a such thing as Google Translate. If you're going to insult me, do it in English or don't do it at all. I think I can take it.

    hi there hawkeye34,

thank you for a great find with these Russian links; I am shocked at the quality: I canceled local cable company 'cause I was sick with their bs and so called
"packages" to a tune of up to $200 a month....I want to watch what I want to watch and when I want to watch, right; even if I have to sacrify quality a bit I was thinking...(if beeb one day provides their programming to the rest of us : I'm lined up) but look what happened : you shared a find with astonishing quality with us - on the same level as my ditched cable biatch, and I thank you for that very much !
