Why do you wish a Flames player would get hit like that? Is that team added to the long list of teams you hate now? Oh wait I forgot, you hate every team that isn't the Panthers. :tongue_old::rolleyes_old:

Remember this is the National Hockey League, not Deutsche Eishockey Liga, or figure skating. :tongue_old:

Well the NHL just proved that Pittsburgh own them. How the hell did Cooke get away without a suspension for the blindside hit to Savard's head with his shoulder and elbow. Cooke has been suspended twice before for deliberate and malicious blows to the heads of unprotected players but this time a player gets a grade 2 concussion and no suspension. The NHL heirarchy are a disgrace. Players like Cooke are going to end up killing a player on the ice because of the NHL refusing to deal with him because he is a Penguin. When the Pens are in Boston later this month I expect Cooke will be rested because he will be dealt with by the only other option available, player self-policing. Problem is when either Lucic, Chara or Thornton take the useless piece of shit to the cleaners the NHL will give them a long ban. Thus it appears that Bruins players are there to be taken out without the NHL taking any punitive action. Bergeron was nearly killed and the NHL showed extreme leniency to a Broad St Bully. This is no way to run a league.

Flames suck already. They have one of the worst players in person of Jay Boomeester!

We are not talking about clean legal hits anymore! We are talking about dangerous and illegal hits!

Well said! Appreciate it! It was teh same with Richards. He did it also on purpose ans should have been suspended for 20 or more. Same goes for Cooke

I'm not really sure he should've been suspended. Maybe he should get a stern warning to be a little more careful next time, but it's not like he stepped into Savard when he hit him. He was pretty much just skating by, and like someone else said somewhere on here, if Savard wasn't admiring his shot, he would've probably been out of the way in time.

Heads shots will never totally be eliminated from the game, because sometimes they just happen. If someone has their head at the elbow level, there's a chance they'll be clipped by a passing skater. It's just bound to happen from time to time.

Did you watch the same hit? Cooke has a history of headhunting. Heck I know the Habs hate the Bruins but you can't seriously defend the hit and accept it as part of the game? Legal hits and fights are acceptable but headshots have no place in this game. Cooke was within milliseconds of being fully airborne leading with his shoulder & elbow!!!!
