Though it is def the right decision to hand out suspensions for these headshots. But 8 games is too little. They deserve a 25 game suspension!!

Sick of these headshot and people still thinking they are good. Just in genearal (Not related to any of the posts here)

You will feel different if your player was injured with these types of hits.

    _______

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville was angry with his former defenseman.

"If you hit a guy without the puck, you can kill a guy," said Quenneville. "It's the most dangerous hit in the history of the game alright? And (Wisniewski) tried to hurt him. That's not intent?"

    Well said by Quenneville!!!

Ducks coach Randy Carlyle didn't see things the same way.

"There's a criteria that the League follows (for discipline)," Carlyle said. "We've always taken the stance that we don't have to always agree with what the league's decision is. We have ample video, we'll watch it, analyze it and we'll plead our case if there needs to be a case pleaded."

Idiot. Bettman should be allowed to fire Carlisle!!! Everybody saw that it was a headshot...
Everybody can jump on me on this, but 8 games is a lot for me. The cheap shot of Cooke? That was ugly and deserve 25 games for example, he try to hurt and send a star player right to hospital and out for the season. The hit of Wisniewski is hard for me, but I don't see more than 4 games, the puck was there and I can't see a cheap shot trying to hurt a player if the Hawks player can see him, this will not happen, Wisniewski cames flying to hit hard. Hope you can understand, my english is not perfect. I'm with the headshots ban, but this sport is tough, you can't call hit after hit a dirty one.

Well I am not so sure about the Wisznewski hit. It was at least not that bad like Cooke and Richards hit.
I know it is tough BUT they must erase the headshots out of the game... I only saw the quote from Quenneville. I dont even know if the puck was there lol
Your english is very good. No problem with it

8 game suspension for that, and that loser Ovechkin only gets 2??? I guess the more seats you fill, the easier it is to get away with being reckless. Maybe if Wisniewski had hit him in a more dangerous spot a few feet further away from the boards like Ovie did, he wouldn't have gotten 8 games.

This is a blatantly obvious double standard, and further evidence that the NHL is no longer a sports league, but just a way for rich a-holes to get richer. Can't wait to see how many games they give Ovie when he ends someone's career with his dangerous play. What is that worth for a money maker like him, a 3 game suspension maybe??

Still do not understand why the Hawks were not acquired a better goalie on the trade deadline.Maybe they'll regret for that decision.

I agree with 100 years of Habs, that is how the NHL is working right now and they suck!
I want to erase too those kind of hits, but there are others things to do, like get rid of the instigator rule and Bettman out of the NHL world.

Well at the time Huet wasn't nearly as bad as he's gotten in the past couple weeks, and Niemi was hot. I guess they figured even if Huet didn't heat back up, they could ride Niemi for awhile. Turns out they were wrong.

I still expect Huet to bounce back and reclaim the starting spot though. He was one of the best goalies in the league for more than half the season, and he's proven himself in the NHL. He'll be back.

oh, & my 2 cents on at least the wisni hit on seabrook, omg, what a joke, 8 games?? seabrook saw him coming, this after he almost took perry's head off with his own head shot. & the acting, wow. seabrook must have practiced that one at home alot. 2 games, like ovie's, would have been fair.

Ok Pen's fans, tonite you have something to cheer about. A much needed 3-0 shutout win against those boys from Bean Town. The first shutout of the year. Nice way to get off the skid. Need to put a streak together for a mo boost going into the stretch drive.
