It's getting a bigger amd bigger mess on our forum yet; so here we go:

*All our main rules from this forum and our site apply also for this forum part Main Forum Rules Link
*you're not allowed to ask for any instructions by e-mail, you're free to discuss things but posting your e-mail for any links to be sent will mean a ban. Period!
*No links to other sites, blogs or anything else, that's why : don't post/ask for e-mail!

Keep it polite, follow the rules and there won't be any problem. And if you got a link somehow: post it, and better would be to put it on p2p if you're making/have got a direct stream. Put it in TVAnts, and post the p2p stream for all people.

    Enjoy! :D

If you can't follow them then a ban will follow. No e-mail posting or discussions. Still not clear?

Exclamation ALL POSTERS: Use the "Report post" feature to deal with issues!

If you have an issue with a post, use the "Report Post" feature to report it and a moderator will deal with it. You can report a post by clicking on a red triangle with an exclamation point in it.

But keep these things in mind...

DO NOT take matters into your own hands. You are NOT a mod, you do not have a right to reply to an out-of-line poster and put him in his place. Do so and you'll be punished as well.

DO NOT report posts to something that isn't report-worthy. If a link crashes, a link crashes, but that is not of a serious nature and doesn't need to be reported. Keep reports to cursing, out of line behavior, and things like that.

Exclamation New And Updated Rules For NBA Season 08-09

Another exciting NBA season is right around the corner. Last season, things didn't go so smooth. Lots of arguing about rules and the inconsistencies of the forum. I felt the need to go ahead and create this thread to clarify exactly what us Basketball mods are looking for in this season out of you, the regular user.

First, I would like to thank you for using the basketball section of the forum. I do appreciate those who come on and discuss the games and enjoy the service we are trying to provide here.

The rules to this forum are fairly basic, and there will be a few changes that will be taken very seriously this year.

    1. NO MMS OR BOSS LINKS. This is something that I know many regular users will take offense to, as it was their favorite method of watching games. Unfortunately for those of you who felt this way, these links are no longer permitted. This means no requesting as well. If you want a why, there are many reasons. Basically, they cause the site to slow down too much with all the requests, refreshing, and link posting; they can get us all in trouble ; all the policing of these links means that questions that need attention from a moderator often get left unanswered; and I am sure that $h00ter or myself can come back later and add more reasons. The list goes on and on. But, the bottom line is that they will not be allowed for the upcoming NBA season, period. Also, most importantly, it is no longer possible to grab mms links. The new system of League Pass (flash player) no longer allows for the grabbing of mms links. This means that even if we allowed them, we would not be able to post them.

    2. No complaining about the streams. You can call it constructive criticism if you would like, but the fact remains that someone could get offended by "UR STREAM SUXz!" It's not very nice (we prefer nice people around here ), and also it discourages people from streaming at all. Think of it this way: the game you want to watch only has one available stream. It has an incredibly low rate, and looks pretty choppy. You come on here and say, "hey, STREAMER, your stream is the worst I've ever seen!!" Then the streamer says to him/herself "Fine, I'll just never stream again." Then for the rest of the season no one is covering your games. Think of it as helping yourself by not complaining. We have too few streamers as it is, and scaring the few we have away won't do us any good!

    3. Anything derogatory, inflamatory, or just plain offensive is strongly frowned upon. Plain and simple - play nice. Having an argument about Kobe v. LeBron is totally acceptable. BUT calling someone an offensive name or using profanities towards another user in unacceptable. Sometimes, tempers flare up. I understand. But the best thing to do is to report the post that upsets you and let a moderator handle the situation. There is no need to escalate issues whenever there are moderators present (which is pretty much always).

All offenses will be considered by the context of the issue, and the punishments for breaking the rules will not always seem consistent. The more serious the offense, the more the punishment. Also, habitual behaviors will be taken more seriously than a first-time offense.

Thank you for reading this and enjoy the upcoming season!

I have left this thread open so that people can give me input. If things get too out of control in any way, I will close it and end the discussion. I'm open to your thoughts and opinions, but please remember that these rules have been discussed heavily by the mods and admin, and we are all hoping for a little understanding from you as well.

Additional rules to keep in mind:
    • Read through the thread. Your question may have already been answered in a previous post. Alternatively, you can use the Search this Thread function to find related posts.
    • Please no game requests.
    • Do not criticize the streamers for their hard volunteer work.
    • Do not act like a moderator. If you need to draw attention to something, use the report post feature
    • Violations of these rules or those mentioned in the general MyP2P or basketball forum's rules may result in an infraction.

In general, don't post links if...
    • They have the name of another site within the url, stream title, or streamer.
    • They require a password to another site.
    • It's a blog / site that just embeds justin.tv streams. Instead, take the url of the justin stream and post that as long as it does not break one of the 2 rules mentioned above.
    • You see that it is censored. DO NOT try to get around the censors by using spaces or any characters.
    • If you are not sure if the link you want to post is ok, ask first and wait for a mod response.
