    I ll make it simple.

I have recently seen a couple of movies and I thought why not make a thread so I can get recommendations from peers here on what next to see.

So, have you seen any movie recently you recommend ? Post here .

It doesnt have to be new, so long it is enjoyable, and hmnnn, maybe available on b******* so others can check it out :). I dont care if it is is bruce willis or bow wow, just want to get up after 2hours and feel good....

The ones I have seen recently and are highly recommended are ( in no particular order ) ...

    1. Breach 4*

    2. Lucky number slevin 4*

    3. The good shepherd 3*

I have forgotten the rest :( but that's why there is an edit button...so over to you people.

By the way, Meeeeeeeeeeeery Xmas all.

I'm not great with modern movies - classics are my thing.

If you like Martin Scorsese then I would definitely recommend 'Mean Streets' - it's very gritty but brilliant

If you've got 3-4 hours to kill then I would recommend 'The good the bad and the Ugly', - more twists than spaghetti junction.

If you want a no bullsh*t thriller with nothing but thrills then it's got to be 'The Hitcher' (the 1986 version with Rutger Hauer) - the greatest B-movie i've seen.

Maybe these aren't your usual choice but it's good to try something new.

Most screeners are just the DVD versions with some legal warning things in it for a cople of seconds. Most of the time they are more than watchable. A popular 'new' kind of rip that is much online these days are the R5 dvd versions which, as i remember correctly, is the russian region. They always get leaked very early, probably because of the Russians lack of seriousness or so. I like to watch them though, because here in Holland, much films are releases like 2 month after the premiere in hollywood.

Anyway, new flicks that I would really recommend are:
    - 3:10 to yuma: brilliant western with russel crowe.
    - American gangster: some sick scenes in it, more than worth watching
    - Gone baby gone: Another Affleck film, kinda like Good Will Huting. Astonishing.
    - Stardust: Superb scenes with Robert De Niro and Ricky Gervais.
    - The Kingdom: just watched it because its a Michael Mann production, and it was alright.
    - Atonement: We all love Keira, and the story is moving.
    - The great debaters: again a nice Denzel flick with some interesting moral value.
    - Eastern promises: superb!
    - Death Proof: tarentino at his best.
    - Superbad: so funny.

Recent films that I would dissuade:
    - I am legend: Some nice shots, but the plot is weak. It really disappointed me how the film ends.
    - Shoot em Up: What the **** Clive?
    - The invasaion: Nicole is hot in this film, but what the **** again.
    - Before the devil knows your dead: High expectations because of Philip Seymour, and his parts were alright, but the film kept going on and on.
    - Planet terror: I don't see the beauty of it, unless much other people.

Lots of other stuff out there, but this is it for now ;-).

Oh and I really forgot to mention "Michael Clayton". I love this kind of film: lots of dialogue, superb plot. So get yourself on the web, and leech it empty.
